I am so happy you found your way to my studio!
It is so wonderful you've decided to give yourself the space to grow your instrument. I am so excited to explore your voice with you!
During our sessions you will be encouraged to come exactly as you are and I will meet you there.
I will endeavor to create an environment where you feel safe to explore and find your truest voice.
You will be strongly encouraged to be kind to yourself, and to master not only your singing voice, but also your internal voice. I will work tirelessly to help you build confidence in your voice. Whether your goal is to slay the stage, win American Idol, become the next Ella, Elvis, Pavarotti, or perhaps, simply master your favorite shower song, I'm here to help you get there.
Singing is vulnerable. Like, really really vulnerable. As a life long student of singing myself, including the anatomical, physical, mental hormonal and emotional aspects of singing, I can 100% empathize with every step of this journey. The process of learning to sing healthily is often first a deconstruction process, a time to break bad habits. But that too is growth. Whatever you experience during your vocal evolution, it is normal, valid, and sometimes down right scary to learn so much about yourself.
It is truly my privilege to walk alongside you as you learn more about your unique instrument.

TESTIMONIALS
"I walked into a collegiate musical theatre program without an ounce of training, and too many bad vocal habits too count. I can only imagine that my first several lessons must have been just as difficult for my teacher were for me. Jules Olson saw the beauty of my instrument and approached the training of my voice like an art in itself. She guided me towards unlocking a potential that I never thought possible and helped me to unlearn my bad habits in order to replace them with beautiful and reliable technique. She never stopped challenging me to find both the freedom and authenticity in my voice. My favorite thing about Jules is that she prepared me to be my own teacher. She doesn’t just get her students to sing better - she equips them with the skills to understand the voice and how to find the freedom they might need when a lesson is not an option and that big audition is right around the corner. To top it all off, Jules Olson is one of the most inspiring and wonderful humans I have had the pleasure to know in my life. She has supported me and guided me in so many more ways than I could have expected and I am proud to have had her as a teacher."-Brendan Coulter, Elon University 22'
" Through Julianne Olson’s teachings, I found a love for musical theater that I didn’t know that I had. I would have never considered myself someone to like classical music until about two months of lessons when I found myself singing Caro Mio Ben in the shower. She ingrained a belief in me to strive for more and soak up teachings when they were given. Her style of teaching was open, and stylized for each student, so if something wasn’t working, there was always another solution to try. She also helped me grow to appreciate all kinds of music, and be more open minded to opportunities through music that I wouldn’t have given myself. Also, I learned how to go outside my comfort zone in private lessons when I did things that were new and scary to me. But overall, I learned the importance of being a good person along with being an artist which in the long run has benefited me more than any studio I’ve been a part of. She is truly a wonderful teacher to work with." -Wyatt Roby, UNCG/Belmont University 20'
"Jules is the first teacher I ever had that taught me how to sing using my true voice. She helps you explore the natural colors and tones within your voice all while maintaining the best vocal health techniques for your unique sound. I had spent years trying to sound like others and Jules was the first person to recognize that I wasn’t using my true voice. Not to mention her extensive music history, linguistic, and pedagogy knowledge; it’s like getting five classes in one. There was never a problem she couldn’t fix. On top of it all, she is the most caring voice teacher I’ve ever had. In my two years of training with her (the final few months being virtual due to the pandemic) there wasn’t a single lesson where she wouldn’t ask what I’ve been up to. She was genuinely invested in my well being and to this day supports all of her students no matter what. To study with Jules is a dream, and every time I sing I continue to teach and correct myself using her techniques."-Hannah Hubbard, Elon University 22'
She helped me foster my art and helped me find my voice, I had never taken any voice lessons before I met her. What I love about Jules is that she’s all about the process and clothed with patience during the lesson. Her ideas were brilliant vocally. Jules is hands down the best voice teacher you will find!" -Claudya Christina Hutasoit, Jakarta, Indonesia
"She understands her students very well. Instead of giving the same vocal treatment to all of her students, she treated each one of us differently - depending on our singing style, our strengths and weaknesses. She's not only my mentor in singing, but also in life. In every class, she gave me motivation to keep pursuing my dream, to let go of all negativity and remind me to believe."-Monica Eva Santi, "Moneva," Jakarta, Indonesia
